Multi-instrumental members of The BuddhaHood cook up a melting-pot of musical
innovation, nuance, and pure groove power. The band's original style has been
coined "World-ternative". Audiences hear reggae, calypso, samba, afro-beat,
funk, blues, and rock at every dance-inducing performance. Alongside the
harmonic vocals, the poly-instrumentation includes mega-percussion, a full horn
section, steel drum, bass, drums, and guitar.
Experience the dynamic, colorful, vivacious show that attracts audiences as
eclectic as the band itself. Expect surprises, many dancing bodies,
perspiration, an elevated heart rate, and creative songs as uplifting
spiritually and emotionally as they are physically.
Blurring the imaginary line at the edge of the stage, The BuddhaHood becomes one
with the audience in unstoppable vibration and elemental harmony. "We let the
music play us," says bassist Rick Whitney, reminding us that everything is
connected. The BuddhaHood regionally tours in support of their 2006 release,
"Muddy Roots" and 2007's double live disc "Toasty," which is a testament to the
late, great founder and BuddhaHood Bodhisattva, Tony Cavagnaro. After many
rebirths, the band moves on with plans to never stop recording, performing,
having fun and spreading their music and energy to as many people possible. |
